Quebrada de Humahuaca: Another Unesco World Heritage, this barren yet stunning canyon houses ancient churches, photogenic traditional villages and old ruins.

Parque Nacional Laguna Blanca: Laguna Blanca is located about 30 kilometers from Zapala in a barren volcanic area of Neuquen. This Parque Nacional is a breeding ground for the distinctive black necked swan. Coots, grebes, upland geese, gulls and the flamingos are other bird species in Laguna Blanca.

Parque Nacional Los Alerces: Built to protect the extensive groves of Alerce which is a large and ancient conifer, this park houses Alerce well over two millennia in age. Located west of Esquel, this park grows cypress and incense cedar trees amidst pristine lakes and streams.
